MCFS Support Services

Staff members and volunteers provide free and personalized support to community residents needing assistance with basic computer training, locating employment opportunities, creating resumes, cover and thank you letters, locating affordable GED/Training programs, etc. With no red tapes and no unnecessary forms to complete, community residents are able to participate in this program up to three days a week from 2:30 pm to 4:30pm

Counseling and Support Group Services for Youths and Families
Group sessions provide a nuturing environment wher youth members can share feelings related to separation and loss or talk about their hopes for the future. Ethnic diversity is promoted and the preserving and honoring of traditional cultural values are encourages.

Social Skills and Instructional Intervention
Social skills and instructional intervention uses modeling, role play, and group discussion to teach immigrant and refugee youths character building skills. Youths are challenged to care about core cultural and ethical values of respect, personal responsibility, self-control, goal setting and academic achievement. Youths are motivated to develop communication skills that are necessary for positive social interaction with peers, teachers and other adults.

Adult Mentoring Program
This program pairs immigramt youths with non-family adult members. Mentors are carefully screened and matched with youths to ensure the greatest opportunity to develop meaningful relationships that provide youths with support, friendship and positive reinforcement.
